It is a great pleasure to announce that the 2013 EMI Conference of ASCE will be held at Northwestern University in its beautiful Evanston (IL) campus on August 4-7, 2013. I am honored to serve as conference chair and I would like you to accept my personal and warm invitation to this event.
The theme of this year's conference is "Mechanics for Sustainable and Resilient Infrastructures"; and we expect the program to be a forum where engineers and mechanicians contribute their expertise to one of the most pressing questions of our society: How can we make the nation's infrastructures safer, more durable, more affordable, and more environmentally friendly during their entire lifetime?
